Chief Michael Henderson
Chief Henderson has over 30 years of law enforcement experience, having come to the Seal Beach Police Department from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in 2006. During his time with the Seal Beach Police Department, Chief Henderson has worked a variety of assignments, including Operations Bureau and Support Bureau Captain, Patrol Sergeant, Corporal, SWAT team member, Explorer Advisor, Emergency Services Coordinator, Public Information Officer and Homeless Liaison Officer. Chief Henderson has a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Studies from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and a Master’s degree in Homeland Security Studies from American Military University. He is a graduate of the Drucker School of Management – Executive Leadership Institute, L.A.P.D. West Point Leadership Program, the Peace Officer Standards and Training – Executive Development Course and CSULB’s Supervisory Leadership Institute. Chief Henderson was named the Seal Beach Police Department Police Officer of the Year in 2012 and the Supervisor of the Year in 2019. He has twice been awarded the Lifesaving Award and is the recipient of the Medal of Merit.
Captain Mike Ezroj
Michael Ezroj has been in the law enforcement field for 23 years. He has been employed with the City of Seal Beach for 16 years. In that time he has held the following assignments: FTO, Explorer Advisor, West County SWAT team member, Traffic Supervisor, Parking Supervisor, Emergency Services Coordinator, Patrol Sergeant, Support Services Captain and currently Operations Captain.
In his spare time Michael likes to spend time with family and friends. He is an avid runner and can be found running around the area in his free time.
Captain Nick Nicholas
Captain Nicholas has been with the SBPD since 2010. He has served in various assignments including most recently as the Operations Bureau Lieutenant and Public Information Officer. Captain Nicholas also worked as a patrol watch commander, field training officer, terrorism liaison officer, explorer post advisor, homeless liaison officer, beach/bike patrol officer, and was assigned as the Department’s Narcotics Detective. Captain Nicholas holds a master’s degree in Political Science and a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration. He is also the Department’s Police Facility Dog Handler and works every day with his partner K-9 Yosa.
Lieutenant Julia Clasby
Lt. Julia Clasby joined the Seal Beach Police Department in 2014. She has worked various assignments including patrol, field training officer, bike patrol, explorer advisor, drug recognition expert, emergency services coordinator, honor guard, investigations, peer support, patrol watch commander, and support services bureau lieutenant. Lt. Clasby currently serves as the Operations Bureau Lieutenant overseeing the patrol, detective, and traffic divisions; supervising the Community Oriented Policing Team and the Police Canine Program; and serving as the department Public Information Officer and SWAT Commander. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management Economics from UC Santa Cruz and a master’s degree in Emergency Services Administration from Cal State Long Beach. Lt. Clasby is a member of POST Command College Class #71, set to graduate in February 2024.
Lieutenant Chris Hendrix
Lieutenant Chris Hendrix served as the Detective Sergeant and has 16 years of experience with the Seal Beach Police Department. Prior to his service with the Seal Beach Police Department, Lieutenant Hendrix served for eight years on active duty as a United States Marine and promoted to the military rank of Sergeant. Lieutenant Hendrix resides in Garden Grove with his wife Sierra and their three dogs Sophie, Sprocket, and Dudley. Their hobbies include camping, enjoying time with their dogs, bike riding, and spending time with friends.
