SEAL BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT LAUNCHES DOWNTOWN AMBASSADOR PROGRAM BEGINNING FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND

Summary

The Seal Beach Police Department has a program called the Downtown Ambassador Program. It started over the Fourth of July weekend in 2026 and is meant to continue all year. Police Aides now work downtown as ambassadors. You will see them on Main Street, in Old Town, in the beach parking lots, and on nearby streets where downtown and beach parking spills over. Their main job is parking, including loading zones, accessible spaces, time-limit zones, and paid parking areas. The program is meant to be broader than writing parking tickets. The Aides also answer questions, help residents and visitors, check in with downtown businesses, and report problems they notice with parking, traffic, signs, cleanliness, or safety. The Department asks people to say hello when they see one.
